Shadowhunters, Finally

A long time ago I attempted to read City of Bones, the first book in the The Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. I couldn't get into the book at all. Recently, while browsing through books on the kindle I found City of Glass, the third book in The Mortal Instruments series, and decided to try it.

City of Glass was a decent read. It lost a star rating from me due to Clary and Jace believing they are brother and sister yet crossed a line that should never be crossed between brother and sister. That was too much in my opinion. Aside from that issue, City of Glass did hold my attention. However, I still stand on preferring the Shadowhunters TV show on Freeform over The Mortal Instruments book series.

City of Glass
by Cassandra Clare

To save her mother's life, Clary must travel to the City of Glass, the ancestral home of the Shadowhunters - never mind that entering the city without permission is against the Law, and breaking the Law could mean death. To make things worse, she learns that Jace does not want her there, and Simon has been thrown in prison by the Shadowhunters, who are deeply suspicious of a vampire who can withstand sunlight.

As Clary uncovers more about her family's past, she finds an ally in mysterious Shadowhunter Sebastian. With Valentine mustering the full force of his power to destroy all Shadowhunters forever, their only chance to defeat him is to fight alongside their eternal enemies.
